The Protein Epitope Mimetics Business Unit (PEMBU) conducts its own drug discovery and clinical development programs based on the proprietary, truly innovative PEM Technology.
PEM are fully synthetic, medium-size cyclopeptide-like molecules that constitute a new class of drugs in between the classical small molecules and biopharmaceuticals. PEM molecules combine many advantages of these two existing drug classes. In particular, they can interfere highly selectively with protein-protein interactions.
Polyphor has been able to build an attractive portfolio of PEMdrug candidates and is also offering PEM Technology to Pharma companies for a collaboration on their targets of interest.

The Small Molecules Business Unit (SMBU) supports pharmaceutical companies in the area of Small Molecule Drug Discovery, i.e. assay development, hit identification with its outstanding 40'000 cpd screening library, hit-to-lead and lead optimization up to the identification of a clinical candidate. Outstanding organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry expertise and experience is complemented by in vitro ADMET and biological profiling, a unique fragment-based approach,  x-ray crystallography and molecular modeling.
